Born 1982, Tehran.
Studied at Ecole des Beaux Arts de Bordeaux.
Living between Tehran, Paris and Singapore, the work of Morvarid seeks to unearth the social in everyday life; with a universal sense but yet a special attention given to Iranian social issues.
The backbone of Morvarid’s work is what she calls the daily absurdity. Attracted by the visceral tension between these two words, ‘daily’ and ‘absurdity’, which makes something foolish, happen again and again, day after day. The depth and the tone vary according to projects; it can be very light with humor as it can be bluntly raw. From street scenes to conceptual work, the daily absurdity is captured in signature vibrant hues.
Morvarid works on a regular base with Yavuz Fine Art gallery in Singapore, Etemad gallery in Tehran and Salwa Zeidan gallery in Abu Dhabi.
In November 2013, one of her masterpieces (The Black Supper) will be proudly presented at Magic Of Persia’s auction, alongside with major Iranian artists, conducted by Christie’s, during Abu Dhabi’s Art Fair.
