Born in Calcutta of sculptor parents in 1952.

Graduated in English Literature from Calcutta University in 1971.  
Took up photography in 1970.  
Worked in advertising agencies as a copywriter till 1983.  
Shifted base to Delhi and turned to photography as a profession from 1983.  
Continued to pursue photography as a means of personal expression.
Has received numerous awards such as New York Festival, Asia Pacific Adfest, Clio nominations, Cannes nominations.
Solo exhibitions at Calcutta and Delhi in 1997, 1998, 2006 and 2007.
Participated in numerous group shows of photography, digital art and sculpture in India.
Prints in various private and corporate collections in India, Europe, South East Asia and the U.S.
