Ishan Khosla is an artist, photographer and designer based in New York and New Delhi. Initially educated in Computer Science, Ishan became obsessed with the visual world after he lost part of his vision.
Ishan has lived and worked in the United States for more than 10 years and holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Ishan has extensively photographed in the US, India and Europe. His images are about the human condi-tion and its presence on Earth. This hold true even for those images that are devoid of any people. Whether it is the street photography in Bombay, protests in New York or Italian architecture, his work tends to sympathize with the subject.
He has won numerous photography awards such as the International Photo Awards in Los Angeles where he placed 2nd and 3rd in the Street and Travel photography categories respectively. Ishan has held 5 solo exhibitions at venues such as: the NCPA, the Nehru Center and the Italian Embassy Festa Italia at Olive in Mumbai. In Delhi his work was exhibited at the India International Center and India Habitat Center. His work has been featured on CNN Style South Asia, NDTV, India Today, The Straits Times, The Times of India, Indian Express and The Hindustan Times.
His design work has been published by Graphis (New York), Plazm Magazine (Portland) and by the :Output Foundation (Germany/Netherlands). He has received the Worldstudio Foundation Award (New York) for designers who contribute socially and environmentally to their country. In collaboration with Worldstudio, Ishan participated in Value Meal: Design and (over)Eating which was shown at the Storefront for Architec-ture (New York) and at the International Design Biennale in Saint-Etienne, France.
